Shama Obaed to Visit Spain and UK to Strengthen Economic and Cultural Diplomacy

Bangladesh Foreign Affairs State Minister Shama Obaed Islam will visit Spain and the United Kingdom from October 26 to 30 as part of efforts to strengthen economic partnerships and promote cultural diplomacy.
During the visit, she is scheduled to hold courtesy calls and meetings with key officials to explore opportunities for cooperation in trade, investment, business, tourism, skills development and cultural exchange, with the aim of further strengthening bilateral relations.
The Foreign Ministry disclosed the information in a press release on Sunday, October 25.
According to the release, the state minister will begin her visit in Seville, Spain, where she will formally inaugurate the 3rd Spain-Bangladesh Expo on October 26. The event is being organised by the Spain-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the theme “Stronger Partnership, Shared Prosperity.”
The exhibition aims to connect Bangladeshi exporters with Spanish manufacturers, importers and investors, creating opportunities to expand bilateral trade and commercial cooperation.
The Foreign Ministry said Shama Obaed Islam will travel to the United Kingdom from October 29 to 30 after completing her visit to Spain. Her programme in the UK will focus on showcasing Bangladeshi industry and culture, expanding international cultural partnerships and identifying new opportunities to develop Bangladesh’s creative economy.
The ministry added that the visit reflects Bangladesh’s commitment to strengthening economic diplomacy with European partners, attracting investment and expanding cultural cooperation.
