Entrepreneur Afroza Haque has been honored with the Best Entrepreneur Award at the Global Star Awards 2026, recognizing her remarkable journey from a small business startup to becoming one of Bangladesh's emerging women entrepreneurs.

She received the prestigious honor during the award ceremony held on Friday (July 25). Earlier this year, she was also recognized at the BIFA Awards for her achievements in entrepreneurship.

Afroza Haque launched her business in 2018 with an initial investment of just BDT 200,000 at Police Plaza in Dhaka. Through dedication, perseverance, and years of hard work, she has successfully expanded her venture and now owns two retail outlets in the capital while also operating a growing online business.

Originally from Shariatpur and raised in Dhaka, Afroza completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Eden Mohila College. She also studied hotel management and gained nearly five years of professional experience at Radisson before deciding to pursue her entrepreneurial ambitions.

Beyond business success, Afroza is committed to promoting women's economic empowerment. She envisions expanding her business across Bangladesh while creating employment opportunities that enable more women to become financially independent and professionally successful.

Expressing her gratitude after receiving the award, Afroza Haque said the recognition has inspired her to work even harder.

"This award is both an honor and a responsibility. I believe that with determination, patience, and passion for one's work, any dream can become a reality," she said.

Offering advice to aspiring entrepreneurs, she emphasized that challenges are inevitable at the beginning of any business journey.

"Never give up because of early setbacks. Learn from every experience, remain patient, and continue working consistently. Success doesn't happen overnight—it is built through dedication, confidence, and perseverance," she added.

Afroza Haque's transformation from a small business founded with BDT 200,000 into a growing enterprise with multiple outlets has become an inspiring example for aspiring entrepreneurs. Industry observers believe her continued leadership and vision will further strengthen her business while making a meaningful contribution to women's entrepreneurship and Bangladesh's economic development.
