Bangladesh has strongly condemned the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which killed two Bangladeshi nationals. The government has called for an immediate end to hostilities and the protection of civilians.
In a statement issued on Sunday, October 11, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Bangladesh mission in Riyadh was in contact with Saudi authorities to obtain details about the deceased and injured Bangladeshis and arrange necessary assistance for those affected.
The ministry said the October 10 attack caused casualties and left many people injured, several of them in critical condition.
Bangladesh expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved families, including those of the Bangladeshi victims, and wished all the injured a swift and full recovery.
“Attacks endangering civilian lives and targeting civilian infrastructure are unacceptable and must cease immediately,” the statement said.
Bangladesh also reiterated its solidarity with the government and people of Saudi Arabia. It called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure, and a peaceful resolution of the crisis through dialogue and diplomacy in the interest of regional peace, security and stability.
