Dhaka-14 lawmaker Barrister Mir Ahmad Bin Quasem (Arman) has alleged that a suspect in the case over the attack on Radda MSH-FP Centre in Mirpur is openly participating in BNP political programmes. He has called for the immediate arrest of the accused and demanded that he be brought to justice.

The MP made the allegation in a Facebook post on Saturday, November 7.

In the post, he questioned why police could not locate the “absconding” accused even though he was allegedly taking part in public processions.

Mir Ahmad Bin Quasem claimed that Papel, an alleged key coordinator in the attack on Radda MSH-FP Centre and a familiar figure in the area, was participating in BNP political programmes in broad daylight with his associates. He also referred to a photograph and a video attached to his post.

The lawmaker further said police had repeatedly described Papel as absconding. Questioning how someone could be considered absconding while allegedly marching openly on the streets, he described the situation as an act of deception against the public.

He said residents of Dhaka-14 would not accept alleged participants in an attack on a mother-and-child healthcare centre being allowed to take part in political programmes in this manner.

In his post, the MP demanded Papel's immediate arrest and called for all those involved in the attack on the Radda centre to be brought to justice. He warned that otherwise, they would be compelled to announce tougher programmes with local residents. He also said the administration would bear full responsibility for any such developments.
