Education will be the key bridge strengthening relations between China and Bangladesh, said Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon.

He made the remarks on Friday while speaking at a roundtable titled “China-Bangladesh Round Table on Governance Experience Exchange” organized by the Center for China Studies (CCS) at a hotel in the capital.

The minister said the longstanding bilateral relations between Bangladesh and China can be further deepened through cooperation in the education sector, which will play a crucial role in future development partnerships.

“Education will be the bridge between China and Bangladesh. The foundation of this bridge will not be concrete or steel, but knowledge and learning,” he said.

He emphasized that transforming Bangladesh’s large population into skilled human resources requires a stronger focus on technical and vocational education. According to him, China’s experience can significantly contribute to developing a skilled workforce in Bangladesh.

Speakers at the event included State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shah Alam, Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A B M Obaidul Islam, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen, and CCS Academic Board Chairman Chen Dongxiao.

The program was moderated by the Director General of Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS), A S M Ridwa Nur Rahman.
