Turkey has reaffirmed its commitment to continuing humanitarian assistance for Rohingya refugees living in Bangladesh, with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan pledging ongoing support during a visit to refugee camps in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar.

Speaking with Rohingya refugees on Friday, Fidan said Turkey has stood beside Bangladesh and the displaced Rohingya population since the beginning of the crisis and will continue its humanitarian efforts in the future.

He expressed hope that the international community would work together to achieve a lasting solution to the crisis, enabling Rohingya refugees to return to Myanmar with dignity, security, and full citizenship rights.

According to Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, the Turkish foreign minister arrived directly at the refugee camps from Cox’s Bazar Airport at around 3:00 pm. Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir and senior officials from Bangladesh’s Foreign Ministry accompanied the visit.

During the tour, Fidan visited a field hospital in Balukhali Camp 9 that operates with Turkish support. He met Rohingya patients, healthcare professionals, and hospital administrators to assess the current state of medical services and discuss ongoing healthcare challenges.

The Turkish minister also spoke directly with refugees to learn about their living conditions, humanitarian needs, and daily challenges inside the camps.

Later, he visited Rohingya Camps 16 and 17, where he observed Turkish-funded healthcare and humanitarian assistance programs and received briefings on the overall situation in the camps.

Officials view the visit as a significant demonstration of Turkey’s continued engagement in addressing the Rohingya crisis and supporting international efforts toward a sustainable solution.
