Three Bangladeshi families have been forced to leave their homes after their properties were attacked and vandalized during anti-immigrant unrest in Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland.

The attacks occurred on Tuesday night in the Tigers Bay area of north Belfast, where masked protesters targeted homes occupied by immigrant families. Windows and doors were smashed, creating fear and panic throughout the neighborhood. Police later intervened and evacuated affected residents to safe locations.

According to reports, a total of 11 members from the three Bangladeshi families are currently staying in temporary accommodation. Due to ongoing security concerns, they have not yet been able to return to their homes.

Family members said the incident has left them traumatized and emotionally distressed. In addition to property damage, their daily lives have been severely disrupted. Some have also been unable to reopen their businesses because of safety concerns, resulting in financial losses.

Local media reports indicate that tensions escalated following a recent stabbing incident, which later triggered anti-immigrant demonstrations. The unrest subsequently spread to several areas, with protesters reportedly attacking homes, vehicles, and business establishments, and setting some properties on fire.

Authorities have deployed additional police officers to restore order. Law enforcement agencies are working to identify and prosecute those responsible for the violence. Political leaders have also urged calm and called on communities to avoid further escalation.

The attacks have heightened anxiety among immigrant communities in Belfast, particularly among Bangladeshi families and other ethnic minority groups. With security concerns still unresolved, there remains uncertainty over when the affected families will be able to return home.
