At least 24 drone intrusions were detected in Kuwaiti airspace over the past 48 hours, as tensions between Iran and the United States continue to escalate in the Middle East, Kuwait’s Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

A spokesperson for the ministry, Major General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, said the armed forces identified and successfully intercepted 24 drones over the past two days. He added that the situation is currently under control.

He further stated that no casualties were reported, though limited material damage occurred. Kuwait’s armed forces remain on high alert to ensure national security and the safety of residents.

Alleged Attacks in the Gulf of Oman

Meanwhile, reports indicate an attack on a Guinea-Bissau-flagged vessel named Zalbeer in the Gulf of Oman. According to U.S. statements, the ship was attempting to pass through the strait in violation of sanctions.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed the vessel was involved in attempts to transport Iranian oil, describing it as a sanctions violation.

The incident marks the third vessel reportedly targeted by U.S. forces in the Gulf of Oman this week, following earlier strikes on the Marivex and Settebello.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that all 20 Indian crew members aboard the Zalbeer are safe and evacuation efforts are underway.
