ICC Rules Out Relocating Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup Matches from India

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that it will not relocate Bangladesh’s matches in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup from India, despite concerns raised over scheduling and venue-related issues.
The global governing body stated that all fixtures will proceed as originally planned under the approved tournament framework.
According to ICC officials, match venues and logistics were finalized after extensive planning and coordination with host authorities, security agencies, and participating teams. The council emphasized that it remains satisfied with the preparedness of the host nation and sees no grounds for altering Bangladesh’s match locations.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials had earlier conveyed concerns related to travel, crowd management, and overall match conditions. However, the ICC maintained that necessary security and operational assurances have been provided and that contingency plans are in place to address any emerging challenges during the tournament.
The ICC also reiterated its commitment to ensuring player safety, competitive fairness, and smooth tournament operations. It said all participating teams, including Bangladesh, are expected to comply with the finalized schedule, which is part of the broader integrity and consistency of the World Cup.
The decision means Bangladesh will play all its scheduled T20 World Cup matches in India as planned, with no changes to venues or fixtures ahead of the tournament.
