The National Sports Council (NSC) has dissolved the current Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) management committee and appointed former national captain Tamim Iqbal as the head of a new 11-member ad hoc committee.

Tamim Iqbal assumed his new role on Tuesday evening (April 7), taking over the BCB presidency following the departure of Aminul Islam Bulbul. He arrived at the BCB headquarters shortly after the NSC announcement.

The NSC decided to dissolve the board after an investigation found that the previous BCB elections had not been conducted according to proper procedures. The decision was confirmed by NSC Director of Sports Aminul Ehsan at a press conference. The NSC also formally informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) via email about the dissolution of the former committee led by Aminul Islam Bulbul.

The newly formed ad hoc committee has a tenure of three months, during which it will organize elections for the BCB. Alongside Tamim Iqbal, the committee members include Israfill Khasru, Roshna Imam, Mirza Yasir Abbas, Syed Ibrahim Ahmed, Minhajul Abedin, Atahar Ali Khan, Tanzil Chowdhury, Salman Ispahani, Rafiqul Islam, and Fahim Sinha.

This development marks a major restructuring of cricket administration in Bangladesh and positions Tamim Iqbal at the helm of the national cricket board for the interim period.
