Youth Killed in Cocktail Bomb Explosion in Moghbazar, Dhaka

 A young man was killed in a cocktail bomb explosion in the Moghbazar area of the capital on Wednesday evening. The incident took place around 7:15–7:30 pm on 24 December near the Wireless Gate area under Hatirjheel police jurisdiction.

Police said miscreants hurled a powerful crude bomb, locally known as a cocktail, from the Moghbazar flyover. The explosive reportedly landed directly on the victim’s head and detonated instantly, killing him on the spot.

The deceased was identified as Siam, a worker at a nearby business named Zahid Car Decoration. He was standing on the road at the time of the explosion. Another person was seriously injured in the blast and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Ramna Division Deputy Commissioner of Police Masud Alam said law enforcement agencies immediately cordoned off the area after the incident and launched an investigation to identify those responsible. Police are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the attack and are working to determine the motive behind the explosion.

No arrests have been made so far, and further investigation is ongoing.
