Prime Minister Extends Greetings to the Nation on Independence and National Day

On the occasion of Independence Day and National Day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has extended her greetings and congratulations to the people of Bangladesh and expatriates living abroad. In a message on Wednesday afternoon (March 25), she conveyed her best wishes.

The Prime Minister, in her message, stated, "March 26 is a glorious and historic day in our national life. On this day, I pay deep tribute to the greatest sons of the nation, whose sacrifices have earned us an independent and sovereign Bangladesh. I also remember with profound gratitude all the brave freedom fighters, tortured mothers, sisters, and those who devoted themselves to the independence struggle, and I pray for the peace of the souls of all the martyrs."

She further added, "The great Independence Day reignites the spirit of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism in our lives. The main goal of independence was to establish an egalitarian, democratic, peaceful, and prosperous Bangladesh. With that goal in mind, we all must work together in unity to move the country forward."

The Prime Minister emphasized, "To accelerate the progress and development of our beloved homeland, we must embrace the values of national unity, mutual tolerance, and the spirit of patriotism in our hearts."

She also stated, "Let us all take lessons from the significance of Independence and National Day and dedicate ourselves to the welfare of the country from our respective positions. Together, we must work towards building a developed, prosperous, and dignified Bangladesh."

The Prime Minister wished for the success of all the programs organized on the occasion of the Independence Day and National Day.
