The 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will begin on March 26, and six Bangladeshi cricketers will participate in this season. On Tuesday (March 24), Tanjid Tamim and Rishad Hossain left Bangladesh to play in the franchise league.
Earlier, on Monday (March 23), four cricketers, Mustafizur Rahman, Shariful Islam, Parvez Hossain Imon, and Nahid Rana, departed for Pakistan. The remaining two cricketers, Tanjid Tamim and Rishad Hossain, took a morning flight from Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Pakistan.
The two cricketers confirmed their departure on social media. Tamim posted a picture with Rishad and wrote, "Now it's time to participate in PSL."
This season, Lahore Qalandars signed Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman directly. Rishad Hossain, Nahid Rana, and Parvez Hossain Imon were picked up in the auction. Additionally, pacers Shariful Islam and Tanjid Tamim have received their first call-up to the franchise league. If everything goes as planned, Shariful Islam and Tanjid Tamim will play for Peshawar Zalmi alongside Nahid Rana. Mustafiz and Parvez Hossain Imon will play for Lahore, and Rishad will represent the Rawalpindi (Pindi) team.
These six players have received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play in PSL until April 12. After that, they will have to return to Bangladesh due to the New Zealand series. In the second week of April, New Zealand will arrive in Bangladesh for a series of three One Day Internationals and three T20 matches.
