Special Traffic Control in Dhaka on March 26 for Independence Day Events, Certain Roads Closed

In celebration of Independence Day and National Day on March 26, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arranged special traffic measures for the day. Events such as the National Parade at Parade Square, a ceremony at the Bangabhaban, and a concert at Manik Mia Avenue are scheduled. To accommodate these events, several key roads in the capital will face traffic control and diversions.
According to the DMP notice, from 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM on March 26, no vehicles other than stickered cars will be allowed on the following roads near the National Parade Square:
From Agargaon Light Crossing to Urojahaj Crossing.
The Bir Uttam Major General Azizur Rahman Road (Agargaon Link Road) near the Prime Minister's Office.
From Shishu Mela Crossing to Agargaon Crossing (Syed Mahbub Morshed Road).
From the July Smriti Museum Crossing (Old Ganabhaban) to the Urojahaj Crossing.
Alternative routes recommended:
Vehicles from Mirpur-10 to Mohakhali/Farmgate should take a right turn at Agargaon Light Crossing, go through Shishu Mela, and use Mirpur Road.
Vehicles coming from Jahangir Gate to BICC should turn right on Bijoy Sarani, head through Urojahaj Crossing and Lake Road, and enter Mirpur Road.
Vehicles from Farmgate to Mirpur should avoid Rokeya Sarani and use Khajurbagan and Manik Mia Avenue to reach Mirpur Road.
Vehicles from Dhanmondi to Mirpur-10 should avoid Rokeya Sarani and use Mirpur Road and Technical Mor to travel.
Special Alerts for Afternoon and Evening:
From 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, a courtesy meeting with the President will be held at Bangabhaban. Additionally, a concert for Independence Day will take place at Manik Mia Avenue from 6:00 PM to 11:30 PM. There may be increased traffic in the area during these times.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police has requested citizens to cooperate by following the traffic instructions to ensure the smooth execution of the national events.
