Former IGP Mamun May Be Made Accused in Shapla Chattar Case: Chief Prosecutor

Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mamun may be included as an accused in the Shapla Chattar case, said the Chief Prosecutor.
He made the remark while speaking about the ongoing legal proceedings related to the Shapla Chattar incident, stating that investigations are still in progress and further names may be added depending on evidence.
The Chief Prosecutor said that the tribunal is actively reviewing case materials and witness statements, and the list of accused persons could be expanded as new information emerges.
He added that accountability will be ensured for all individuals found to be involved in the incident, regardless of their former positions or influence.
The Shapla Chattar case concerns allegations related to a major law enforcement operation and subsequent events, which have been under judicial scrutiny for several years.
Authorities confirmed that the investigation process remains open and further updates will be provided as the case progresses.
