Pop star Britney Spears has voluntarily entered a rehabilitation facility following her arrest in March on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to media reports.

Authorities in Ventura County, California, stopped Spears after observing erratic driving on a highway in early March. She was later booked on suspicion of DUI after reportedly failing field sobriety tests and showing signs of impairment. She was released the following day.

Her representatives described the incident as “completely inexcusable” and said she would take steps to comply with legal requirements and focus on recovery.

Spears has now chosen to seek treatment voluntarily at a rehabilitation center, roughly a month after the arrest. A representative confirmed that the decision was made as part of an effort to address personal and health-related challenges.

The case is still ongoing, with Spears scheduled to appear in court in May. Legal proceedings related to the DUI arrest are expected to continue as investigations proceed.

The development marks another difficult chapter in the singer’s personal life. Spears, 44, has remained largely out of the spotlight in recent years, focusing on her personal life after ending her long-running conservatorship in 2021.

Her most recent music releases include collaborations in recent years, while she has also been active on social media and published a bestselling memoir in 2023.
