From Lux Superstar to Television Actress: Nusrat Afrin Yumna Begins a New Journey

Although she did not win the crown at Lux Superstar 2025, Nusrat Afrin Yumna won the hearts of audiences with her confidence, personality, and fearless ambition. In a short time, she became a familiar face among viewers. Now, stepping beyond the reality show stage, the young talent has begun a new chapter in acting.

Yumna made her small-screen debut through the television drama “Moner Majhe Tumi.” Opposite her, actor Saad Naovi played the lead role. The drama was written by Shafikur Rahman Shantanu and jointly directed by Amitabh Ahmed Rana and Subrata Mitra.

The drama aired on Channel i on May 22 at 3:05 pm and is expected to be released soon on the Channel i Prime YouTube channel.

Despite not winning the title, Yumna considers the love of the audience to be her greatest achievement. She is now using that popularity as the foundation for her acting career.

Sharing her experience of working in her first drama, Yumna said, “‘Moner Majhe Tumi’ is my first drama. As a newcomer, I was a bit nervous at the beginning. But I really enjoyed working with Naovi Bhai. He was very supportive and helped me throughout the entire process.”

Speaking about the story, Yumna described it as a light romantic drama where a young man falls in love with a girl at first sight. Although they do not enter into a conventional romantic relationship, the young man begins to dream of having her as his life partner.

However, the story does not focus only on the male perspective. It also highlights the thoughts and aspirations of the female character. According to Yumna, many women today see marriage as a form of restriction because they have personal dreams, higher education goals, and career plans. In many cases, fear of incompatibility or conservative mindsets creates hesitation toward marriage.

But “Moner Majhe Tumi” presents love from a perspective of responsibility, understanding, and mutual respect. The drama attempts to show that choosing the right life partner can make life more beautiful rather than restrictive.

The makers hope the romantic drama will resonate with audiences, while Yumna’s debut performance has already created curiosity among viewers about her future in acting.
