After 16 years of operation, Airtel is taking on a new identity in Bangladesh under the brand name ‘Circle’. Robi Axiata PLC officially unveiled the new brand on Monday (17 August) at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka.

According to Robi Axiata, the rebranding will not affect the operator’s relationship with customers or their existing services. All Airtel customers will automatically become customers of ‘Circle’.

Customers will continue to use their existing 016 numbers, SIM cards, packages and balances without any changes. Their mobile financial services (MFS) accounts, wallets, transactions and personal information will also remain unchanged.

New Digital Experience for Young Customers

‘Circle’ has been developed around Airtel’s long-standing connection with Bangladesh’s younger generation. Robi said the new brand will focus on future-oriented technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), along with enhanced digital services.

The brand aims to provide more affordable, modern and digital-focused services, with particular emphasis on entertainment, gaming, content creation and the everyday digital activities of young people.

‘Circle’ has adopted the brand promise “Real Connection, Always On.” The brand aims to help people build meaningful connections with the individuals, communities and experiences that matter most to them.

Robi Axiata Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Ziad Satter said Airtel had grown alongside Bangladesh’s young generation over the past 16 years, and ‘Circle’ represents the next chapter of that journey.

He said the brand name may have changed, but its core commitment remains unchanged. The focus will not simply be on connecting more people, but also on making existing connections more meaningful.

Customer Services to Continue Without Interruption

Robi said customers will continue to receive uninterrupted services throughout the rebranding process. Airtel customers will not need to complete any additional procedure.

MFS accounts, wallets, transactions and customer information will remain secure and fully operational.

According to Robi, ‘Circle’ has been designed in response to changing digital realities and the increasingly connected lifestyles of consumers. Building on Airtel’s youth-focused identity, the new brand plans to introduce enhanced digital capabilities and future-oriented services while continuing to invest in innovations aimed at meeting the evolving needs of Bangladesh’s digitally connected generation.
