Gold prices have been reduced again in Bangladesh, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) cutting the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 1,691 per bhori.

Following the latest adjustment, the price of one bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold jewellery, including VAT, has been set at Tk 229,081.

BAJUS said the latest price reduction was made after the price of Tejabi gold declined in the local market.

The new price came into effect at 10am on Monday (October 5), according to the association.

The decision was taken at a meeting of BAJUS’s Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring. Later, a notification signed by committee chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen announced the revised price.

BAJUS regularly adjusts domestic gold prices in line with changes in local market conditions and the price of raw gold.
