The number of Saudi Arabia-bound flights suspended from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka has risen to 103 amid disruptions at several Saudi airports. The suspensions have affected 15,779 passengers, according to information provided by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) on Thursday, October 15.

Of the suspended flights, 42 were direct services and 61 were transit flights, the source said. The affected services included 17 flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 10 by US-Bangla Airlines, eight by Saudia and seven by Riyadh Air.

Flights from Dhaka operate to Riyadh, Dammam, Madinah and Jeddah through direct and transit routes. However, operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh have been suspended, while flight movements at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam have also been disrupted.

In response to the situation, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended all flights to Riyadh and Dammam until October 17.

The disruption has left passengers uncertain about their travel plans and increased difficulties for people travelling to Saudi Arabia.
