Prime Minister Tarique Rahman exchanged greetings with students of his alma mater, Dhaka Residential Model College, who visited the National Parliament on Thursday.
Around 150 students from classes VI to XI attended the parliamentary session as part of an educational visit.
The students were seated in the oath room of the Parliament building, where they were given a brief presentation on the architecture of the Parliament building and the legislative process.
Addressing the students, the Prime Minister said, “I was a student of Residential Model College, and my brother Arafat Rahman Koko also studied there.”
He encouraged the students to contribute to nation-building and wished them success in their future endeavors. He later exchanged greetings with the students and teachers and posed for photographs.
Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon was also present at the event.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to inspire patriotism among students and familiarize them with the legislative process. Regular visits to Parliament are being arranged for students from different institutions.
On the occasion of the Prime Minister’s speech in Parliament, students of his former college were specially invited to attend the session.
