Iran Claims 78th Wave of Missile and Drone Strikes on Israeli and U.S. Targets under “Operation True Promise 4.”

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it has launched the 78th wave of its ongoing retaliatory campaign, Operation True Promise 4, against Israeli and U.S. military targets in the early hours of March 24. The IRGC states that the strikes were carried out using precision-guided ballistic missiles and armed drones aimed at multiple locations, including Eilat, Dimona, and northern Tel Aviv, as well as several U.S. military bases across the region. The force described the operation as dedicated to the people of Iran’s eastern provinces, including North Khorasan, Razavi Khorasan, South Khorasan, and Sistan‑Baluchestan.
According to IRGC statements, the missiles—identified as Emad and Qadr systems capable of carrying multiple warheads—were employed with pinpoint accuracy. The operation was described as a continuation of Iran’s broader military response to what Tehran claims are ongoing attacks by Israel and its allies. In its release, the IRGC said most of its combat units and a large force of volunteer fighters (Basij) have not yet been fully deployed.
Recent reporting indicates that the conflict between Iran, Israel, and U.S.-aligned forces continues to escalate. Independent sources note that Iranian missiles and drones have struck a variety of targets, including in Gulf states and Israeli territory, resulting in explosions reported in Jerusalem and northern Israel. Air defenses in some areas have reportedly engaged incoming threats.
The conflict, which began after a series of U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets, has involved repeated waves of missile and drone barrages by Tehran. Operation True Promise 4 represents the latest phase in a sequence of Iranian operations named under the same codename. Previous waves have targeted U.S.-linked military sites and strategic infrastructure throughout West Asia, and earlier operations have involved advanced missile systems and attacks extending beyond Israel to include other regional states.
The broader Iran‑U.S.–Israel war remains highly volatile, with both sides continuing offensive operations. Diplomatic efforts to end the hostilities have been publicly denied by Tehran despite claims of negotiation by U.S. officials. Civilians and military personnel in various countries have been affected by the fighting, and the regional security situation remains unstable.
