Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to Visit Feni on October 1

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit Feni on Thursday, October 1, for a daylong programme in Parshuram and Fulgazi upazilas.

According to the official itinerary, the prime minister will inaugurate the rehabilitation work of the Muhuri-Kahua Flood Control, Drainage and Irrigation Project in Parshuram. In Fulgazi, he is also scheduled to take part in a tree-planting programme, inaugurate electricity supply to the national grid from a rooftop solar system, distribute Family Cards and Farmer Cards, and provide honorariums to people working at various religious institutions.

The itinerary was announced in a letter signed by Md Uzzal Hossain, Protocol Officer-1 at the Prime Minister’s Office, on Monday, September 28.

The prime minister is scheduled to leave his residence by road at 8:30 am and reach Parshuram at 12:30 pm. He will inaugurate the first phase of the rehabilitation project at the Kheyaghat-Muhuri Bridge area and exchange greetings with local residents.

At 1:15 pm, he will leave for Begum Khaleda Zia Women’s College in Fulgazi and take part in a tree-planting programme upon arrival at 1:30 pm.

At 2 pm, he will visit the Fulgazi District Council Dak Bungalow to inaugurate electricity supply to the national grid from its rooftop solar system. He will have lunch and rest there.

At 3 pm, the prime minister is scheduled to attend a programme at Fulgazi Government Pilot High School ground, where Family Cards and Farmer Cards will be distributed. Honorariums will also be provided to imams, muezzins, khadims and others working at various religious institutions.

According to the schedule, he will leave Feni for Dhaka at 5:30 pm and is expected to arrive in the capital around 9:30 pm.

Preparations are underway in Parshuram and Fulgazi ahead of the visit. Work on the project inauguration venue, public gathering site and other infrastructure is nearing completion. A temporary helipad has also been set up at Parshuram Pilot High School ground.

The visit was initially scheduled for September 17 but was later postponed and rescheduled for October 1.
