Islam Khan, the Administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), has stated that 50% of dengue control is achievable through public awareness, rather than just relying on medications. He emphasized that while mosquito sprays will be conducted, the elimination of dengue cannot be achieved unless garbage and waste are also properly managed.
Speaking after the inauguration of an Eidgah field in North Khan Middle Para on March 17, built at a cost of nearly three crore Taka, he mentioned that the local community must also take responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness of the Eidgah and janaza ground.
Despite the limitations of the City Corporation, the administrator reassured the public of the full cooperation of the authorities in service to the residents. At the same event, local Member of Parliament S.M. Jahangir Hossain called for collaboration from all parties to implement the promises made by the government.
