President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman are set to offer Eid-ul-Fitr prayers together at the National Eidgah ground in the capital, Dhaka. The main Eid congregation is scheduled to take place at 8:30 a.m. on the day of Eid.

The information was shared on Thursday morning by State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mir Shahe Alam, after inspecting the preparations at the National Eidgah ground. He noted that this will be the first Eid al-Fitr following the formation of the government through a free, fair, and credible election, making the occasion particularly significant.

He further stated that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given his consent to participate in the prayers at the National Eidgah, allowing ordinary worshippers to join the same congregation alongside both the President and the Prime Minister.

Following the inspection, Dhaka South City Corporation Administrator, Md. Abdus Salam confirmed that arrangements have been made to accommodate approximately 35,000 worshippers, including around 3,500 women. Separate entry points, ablution facilities, and designated prayer spaces have been arranged for female worshippers. In addition, adequate ablution facilities and medical teams will be available on-site to ensure the safety and comfort of attendees.

For security reasons, entry gates will be limited during arrival, but all gates will be opened after the prayers to facilitate a smooth exit.

Authorities also stated that in case of adverse weather conditions, the main Eid congregation will be shifted to the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, where prayers will be held at 9:00 a.m.
