Dhaka, August 12, 2026: Six senior police officers, including Assistant Police Commissioner Golam Ruhani and Joint Commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarker, have been dismissed from service.

The Ministry of Home Affairs announced the decision in several separate notifications issued on Wednesday (August 12).

According to the notifications, the dismissed officers are Additional Superintendent of Police Rajon Kumar Das, who was serving with APBn-8 in Cox’s Bazar; DMP Assistant Police Commissioner Golam Ruhani; Police Superintendent Md. Iqbal Hossain of the Khulna Range DIG’s office; Deputy Police Commissioner Kazi Ashraful Azim of the Chattogram Range DIG’s office; Joint Commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarker, who was attached to the Barishal Range DIG’s office; and Sudip Kumar Chakraborty.

The Home Ministry said the officers were dismissed under the relevant provisions of the Government Service Act, 2018.

The notifications did not provide details regarding the specific reasons for the dismissals.
