PM Tarique Rahman Leaves for Kishoreganj, Set to Attend Multiple Programmes

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has left Dhaka by road for Kishoreganj to attend a multiple of programmes, including the formal inauguration of National Fisheries Fortnight 2026.

The prime minister departed from his Gulshan residence at 9:15am on Sunday (August 16), his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon said.

He said the prime minister will attend several programmes, including the inauguration of National Fisheries Fortnight 2026 at the George Institute field in Achmita Union of Katiadi. Tarique Rahman is scheduled to return to Dhaka in the evening after completing the day's programmes.

According to the itinerary, the prime minister will attend a fish fry release, distribution and greetings exchange programme at the Mirzapur Chairman Bari Ghat area of Pakundia on the Brahmaputra River at 11:30am.

At 12:30pm, he will visit the Katiadi Card Hatchery Complex. At 1pm, he will attend the inauguration of National Fisheries Fortnight 2026 and the National Fisheries Award ceremony at the mini stadium of George Institute in Achmita.

At 2:30pm, the prime minister will inaugurate a tree-planting programme at the historic Sholakia Eidgah ground.

Later, at 3:15pm, he will have lunch at the Circuit House. At 4pm, he will attend a programme at the old Kishoreganj Stadium to distribute Family Cards and provide honorariums to religious figures, including imams, muezzins, priests, monks and pastors.
