Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has stated, "In our election manifesto, we promised to professionalise the sports sector of the country and to create new players in various sports. In line with that goal, we want to launch ‘Notoon Kuri Sports’ in the model of the traditional ‘Notoon Kuri’ program."

He added, "It is not just ‘Notoon Kuri Sports’—we have a plan. We want to start sports competitions at schools and various classes in every district, upazila, and union of Bangladesh."

He was present at a special match organised by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) at the National Stadium this afternoon.

On the occasion of Independence Day, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman enjoyed the friendly football match, which featured former star footballers, sitting by the dugout at the stadium.

After the match, medals were distributed to the players, and during a conversation with journalists, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman shared his government's vision for the sports sector.

Emphasising the importance of enhancing Bangladesh's glory in international sports, the Prime Minister said, "We have a goal, and we want to make efforts to bring more honour for the country in various international forums where these games are held in the future, and we aim to produce good players in a better way. We have a plan, and we are trying."

Calling for the creation of a beautiful sports environment free from political differences, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman stated, "On this Independence Day, let us all make a decision to try together—many people from Bangladesh are directly or indirectly involved in sports, and I request everyone—let’s create a beautiful sports sector in the country free from politics, for the betterment of the nation."

He added, "Sports can bring immense honour to the country, and I believe that sports can also create strong bonds of friendship and brotherhood among us."

At the event, the Prime Minister's daughter, Barrister Jaima Rahman, was also present. Other notable attendees included Abdul Awal Mintu, Minister for Forest, Environment, and Climate, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock, Habibur Rashid Habib, State Minister for Road Transport and Railways, Aminul Haque, State Minister for Sports, Rofiqul Alam Majnu MP, Convener of Dhaka South City, Prime Minister's Press Secretary Saleh Shibly, and Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.
