The opening hours of the ‘Super Sale Car Bazaar’ at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka have been extended by one hour in response to growing interest and strong participation from buyers and sellers. The weekly event will now remain open until 8:00 pm every Friday.
The special car market takes place at ICCB every Friday. Following encouraging responses over the first four weeks, the fifth edition was held on Friday, featuring a new addition: brand-new vehicles imported by Asian Imports. Alongside new cars, reconditioned and used vehicles are also attracting interest from prospective buyers.
Launched jointly by Wizard Showbiz and ICCB, the car bazaar previously operated from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm every Friday. Organisers said the opportunity to explore and purchase new, reconditioned and used vehicles at a single venue has helped the event gain popularity among buyers and sellers. In response to increased interest, the closing time has been extended to 8:00 pm.
Visitors to the bazaar can see rows of vehicles from various brands and models. New cars and reconditioned vehicles are displayed alongside used cars, many of which were previously owned for personal use. Some owners have brought their vehicles to the market as they plan to sell their existing cars and purchase new ones.
The bazaar began with just 127 vehicles, but the number had increased to approximately 360 by its fifth week. This gives prospective buyers the opportunity to compare a wide range of vehicles at one location.
During a visit to the market on Friday, some buyers were seen exploring new cars, while others were carefully examining used vehicles before making a purchase decision. Many compared different models, prices, features and facilities before deciding which vehicle to buy.
Vehicles at the event are priced from around Tk 650,000 to approximately Tk 35 million. Sellers are also offering various deals to attract customers.
Officials from Asian Imports said new electric vehicles (EVs) had been added to this edition in response to customer preferences and demand. Both Japanese and Chinese EVs are available, alongside reconditioned vehicles.
Mehedi Hasan Molla, brand and marketing manager at ICCB, said the fifth edition was being held following the successful completion of the previous four weeks. He said the event had received a positive response from both buyers and sellers, with more than 350 vehicles brought to the venue on Friday.
He added that attendance and interest had increased compared with the previous four weeks, prompting the organisers to extend the market’s operating hours by one hour, until 8:00 pm.
With opportunities to explore and purchase new, reconditioned, and used vehicles under one roof, the ‘Super Sale Car Bazaar’ is gradually expanding as a marketplace for both buyers and sellers.
