PM Tarique Rahman Joins World Habitat Day 2026 Event

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has joined a discussion meeting marking World Habitat Day 2026 as the chief guest.
The event, organized by the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, is being held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka on Monday morning, October 5.
This year’s event is being organized under the theme ‘Universal Housing, Sustainable Urbanization’, highlighting the importance of accessible housing and sustainable development of urban areas.
Before joining the discussion, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman planted a sapling of the Sonchampa tree on the premises of the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre.
Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher Suman, State Minister Ahmmed Sohel Manjur, ministry secretary Md Obaidur Rahman and other senior officials were present during the programme.
The discussion is expected to focus on housing, urban development and creating more sustainable and livable communities in Bangladesh.
The Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary-1, Zahidul Islam Rony, confirmed the Prime Minister’s participation in the World Habitat Day programme.
