England delivered one of their most dominant performances in recent times, demolishing Croatia 7-0 in a UEFA Nations League clash in Rijeka on Saturday.
Croatia were forced to play the match behind closed doors as punishment for racist behaviour, leaving the home supporters unable to witness England’s emphatic attacking display from the stands.
England controlled the game from the outset, with their attacking stars putting Croatia’s defence under constant pressure.
Captain Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka both scored twice and also provided an assist each. Jude Bellingham contributed a goal and set up three more, while Anthony Gordon scored once and assisted another.
Substitute Morgan Rogers completed the scoring late in the match, adding England’s seventh goal to cap a memorable away victory for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
The result lifted England to second place in Group A3. A victory over the Czech Republic on Wednesday would put the Three Lions in a strong position to reach the Nations League quarter-finals in March.
