Bangladeshi actor and producer Monowar Hossain Dipjol has responded to allegations of extortion by highlighting his financial assets. In a recent interview, he claimed that he owns more than 100 bighas of land under a single plot in Gabtoli and questioned why he would need to extort money from others.

Dipjol said his financial position means he has no reason to seek money through extortion. His remarks have once again drawn attention to his land holdings in Gabtoli, his involvement with the local cattle market and various allegations previously associated with him.

However, no independent government record or publicly available deed has been found to verify his claim of owning more than 100 bighas of land in a single plot. The claim therefore remains his own statement and has not been independently verified.

Dipjol has long been associated with the Gabtoli cattle market. In 2024, his name came into focus during the leasing process for the market for Bangla year 1431. He had submitted the highest bid of Tk 17.12 crore. Although complications arose over payment within the stipulated period, the lease was later upheld following a court decision.

His name again drew attention in 2025 after a case was filed against him over allegations that a woman was assaulted and attacked with acid at the cattle market. A subsequent investigation report, however, reportedly found no truth in the allegations.

In June 2026, reports also emerged that Dipjol had been fined over allegations concerning occupation of district council land in Gabtoli.

Against this backdrop, his latest comments about extortion have sparked renewed discussion. While Dipjol maintains that his financial resources make extortion unnecessary, his claim regarding the amount of land he owns has not been independently verified.
